A sneak peek at the pinnafore/longies/Bumble Beenee ( I have at last named my head warmers!). I am on the hunt for the perfect buttons for the pinnafore and crocheting like mad to get the longies done. This is an exciting set, I love doing new things. If the pinnafore works well I might do some woollen ones with some hand dyed stuff too.

All Done!
They took me a while but they are all done! They are safe in the owner's home at last! I am really happy with the results, it was quite a challenge making these whilst fulfilling my study duties but I think I have a good system down now and will be creating more more often again.
I am currently making a cotton dress which will have either a matching woollen soaker or longies, not sure yet! Beanies and lots of soakers to come!

Rainbows!
I have been busy dyeing wool again, this time for the Winter Stripes custom slot. The winner chose rainbow colours and this is the result. I won't be posting any pics until the set is finished and in the hands of the winner, I want her to be the first to see them!
I picked up my shipment from Treliske today and in this package is some new yarn I have never used before, I can't wait to get stuck into it! I have returned to uni last week after a 3 year break so activity at The Woolly Tree might be a little quiet for a little while while I get into a new routine.

My fingernails are purple!
I hate wearing gloves, I like to feel the wool woth my hand when I am dyeing it. I had fun though, I am getting close to running out of Treliske, might have to order some new stuff. The purple 2 tone is for a friends unborn soaker.
The dusty blue actually is also truquoise, you just can't see it in the photo, thats for some newborn longies I think. The turquoise, purple and some other coloured yet to be dyed will be some stripey toddler longies and the orange will be matched with some yellow and bright red for a set of some sort. I ca'nt wait for this lot to dry so I can get stuck into it. Got started on the rest of my NZ wool, a girly jumper I think, maybe a vest, we will see.

Busy busy trying out new things.
No pics but I have been busy crocheting some new things that I have never made before. I am a part of Yarns United and so I can donate all proceeds minus postage to charity I am going to try to make all garments from left over wool from other projects. My first project is using some leftover wool from Woodford and also some green from a custom stripey set I made some months ago.
All these new pregnancies and births on forums at the moment has inspired me to make some newborn Jackabear Soakers. I have never made these for a newborn and I am making a two pack so am making them concurrently so they are identical in size (cos I never make things to the same size, my patterns are all adaptable in that way). I am making them plain and dyeing them after they are crocheted up.

Welcome to wotsupthawoollytree!

I have been meaning to start a blog for quite a while, now is the time it seems! I aim to chronicle my adventures crocheting garments for The Woolly Tree. At the moment I am putting the finishing touches on a soaker for the store, just the waist to go and the drawstrings to put in. I have decided to name it "Punk for a Little Spunk"
